Join the CPRS JEDI Counsel and fellow park & rec professionals for a free, virtual roundtable during which we will discuss going beyond the land acknowledgement and engaging with Indigenous and Native American communities.

The JEDI Counsel will be joined by CPRS member Donna Legge to tee up and facilitate the discussion in which we will explore going beyond the land acknowledgement and engaging with Indigenous and Native American communities.  Participants are encouraged to come with questions (or send them in advance to [email protected]) and be prepared to discuss approaches taken by their own community/agency.

These virtual roundtable events offer a 'brave space' for open dialogue and learning about what can be challenging and nuanced topics.  The roundtables will not be recorded so participants may feel more welcome to have authentic and productive discussions -- similarly, generative AI and other note-taking tools are not permitted to enter.  The information exchanged and ideas offered are not legal advice nor the opinion of CPRS, rather, the ideas and opinions of the individuals sharing them.  

Registration closes on Tuesday, September 1st at 11:59 pm (Pacific). 
Registrants will receive the zoom meeting access information via the email address provided on Wednesday, 09/17/2025, by 11 am.  This email will come from Lauren Oakley at [email protected].  

This roundtable is free for all to attend -- CPRS membership is not required.  We welcome you to invite other members of your organization and team to register to join us for some thoughtful discussion around these JEDI principles.  Please do not share your personal zoom link with others - encourage others to register themselves.

This roundtable will be hosted on the zoom workplace platform with all participants in a singular large group (break out rooms will not be utilized).  AI notetakers and similar tools will not be permitted.  Recording is not permitted.
