Event Overview
The purpose of the CPRS Director’s Academy is to enhance the leadership skills of park and recreation professionals through education centered upon CORE leadership competencies and their application through innovative and practical leadership techniques.
The goals of the CPRS Director’s Academy include:
- Provide unique, management level curriculum in the area of parks and recreation leadership and resource management.
- Build professional core competencies leading to stronger overall agency core competencies.
- Provide training opportunities for a broad range of park and recreation professionals, including technical and leadership/advancement skills.
- Further the knowledge and best management practices of park and recreation professionals.
- Provide networking opportunities for further knowledge sharing and growth.
Leaders will be able to hone their skills in our stated professional core competencies; feel prepared to take on advanced leadership roles within their agencies/organizations; prepare for the CPRP/CPRE exam.
The content of the Director's Academy is targeted to both new and mid-careers leaders such as managers, superintendents, and directors. Additionally, those who are ready to take the next step in their leadership journey in becoming a director are welcome to attend.

This academy will offer two tracks, one for up-and-coming agency leaders who want to build their core competencies and one for seasoned leaders who are ready to take their agency to the next level.

Cancellations
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to marina@cprs.org by Dec 19, 2022. All cancellations will incur a $50 cancellation fee. Transfers to another attendee can be made through Jan 6, 2023 for no fee.
